Ingredients
  

Sandwiches
  • 4 slices sandwich bread toasted if desired
  • 6 oz deli turkey
  • 1 small crisp apple thinly sliced
  • 2 slices sharp cheddar cheese optional
  • 1 cup lettuce butter lettuce or romaine
Honey Mustard Spread
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Toast the bread lightly if desired.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together Dijon, honey, and black pepper.
  3. Spread honey mustard on all bread slices.
  4. Layer lettuce, turkey, cheese (if using), and apple slices on two pieces of bread.
  5. Close the sandwiches, slice, and serve.

Notes

Tip: For packed lunches, place apples between turkey and cheese to slow browning and keep crunch.
